Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
