I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
